My current series is titled: Bay of Fires.
The Bay of Fires. encompasses the area of Tasmania between Eddystone Point and Grants Point, south of Binalong Bay. It is characterised by its silver white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and massive granite boulders that are tinted a bright burnt orange by the lichen that grows on them.

This painting (inspired by the coastal regions of North East Tasmania) is my endeavour to merge my love of landscape photography, topographic relief maps and artistic abstraction. The challenge is to create balance between precision and nebulousness; this tenuous control of a chaotic and free flowing medium allows me to produce an abstracted representation of a seascape as I see it.My current series is titled: Bay of Fires.
