Created by Bartenders during isolation to enjoy with their favourite gin or just as a straight refreshing tonic water. Just mix 20 ml of the Mediterranean Tonic to a 200ml glass of any soda water you like to make yourself a floral and herbaceous Mediterranean Tonic Water.
Our Mediterranean Tonic Syrup is made with quality botanicals including cinchona bark which is a natural source of quinine as well as fresh orange, grapefruit and lemon zest and featuring Mediterranean herbs including lemon thyme and lavender. It is made not by boiling, but by steeping the ingredients, this not only extracts the flavour but also keeps the nutritional benefits. Besides other benefits, The Cure Tonics have 30% less sugar than other market leading tonic waters.
Cinchona bark is one of the main ingredients in making of the tonic syrups. It contains quinine, which is historically used to prevent and treat the disease malaria as it's a natural anti-inflammatory. The bark is what gives the tonic its unique bitter flavour.
Lemon Thyme is an herb from the mint family, native to the Mediterranean climate zone. Different from the English Thyme, this herb has limonene and thymol, that gives it a citrusy flavour to the minty herb. The herb is rich in iron, Vitamins C, D and B-complex. The essential oil present in this herb contain compounds that provide antioxidant and antiseptic properties.
Lavender is a mint family plant well-known for its purple flowers and sweet floral scent. Native to the Mediterranean area, this herb is widely used for medicinal, therapeutic and food flavouring purposes. It’s a lovely fragrant herb that can also combat headaches, tension, exhaustion and aid digestion.
We recommend using 1 part syrup to 10 parts of soda water ratio, but if you prefer stronger tonics, feel free to change the ratio. One 500ml bottle will mix up to 5.5 litres of quality tonic water.
Ideal for use with water carbonation devices.
Gin is not required but highly recommended.
